Well I decided to take the Camaro to work this morning. On the way home I drove through London at rush hour.

The Camaro behaved perfectly and is no more difficult to drive in such slow and stop start as my auto Jeep :)

Excellent news. . Auto muscle cars should be easy peasy... it's only when you've got a manual with a semi race clutch and hard brake pads it becomes a bit crap in traffic..

  great stuff ! I drive my Camaro on a regular basis, I know we dont get the same traffic probs as London but she behaves perfectly for a daily driver even when stuck on Blackpool Prom mid season !!!! If you cant drive it through normal traffic whats the point as there isnt enough open road to enjoy them

Well one of the reasons I bought it was how well it drove. The mildly tuned Mustang I had previously was a manual and a lot more hard work, though even that was a breeze compared to my old Land Rover with a V8, manual and no powered anything!

I drove an early 90's Transit the other week, LWB, no power steering and about 568 turns lock to lock, complete nightmare to manoeuvre... (i used to have one too, so must've forgotten what pig it is)

Driving Camilla (auto) in traffic is a breeze

Butch on the other hand requires one to plan the trip so as to ensure we miss any traffic at all!

Great to hear! Usually if they're well maintained and relatively stock they will survive as they were built to sit in traffic in places like California in the middle of summer. I think it's when they get modified that they get the reputation for being less reliable for a daily use, which is kind of expected.

My 3rd gen has sat in many a traffic jam, probably the worst was finding ourselves in a non moving queue at Leicester Square for an hour in +20c. Good thing having electric fans (stock). Being a manual, even with a hydraulic clutch, it can take its toll but still does the job pretty well.

Car Details:68 pontiac firebird coupe project car,my aim is a street friendly, lightly modified pro.touring style.
Lowered ,mild body mods,400 cu in SBC engine, Muncie 4speed, 10 bolt posi axle, disc front drum rear.
68 firebird convertible ( long term project) Stock resto/mod style ,400 pontiac th350
With a manual they are a bit harder in really slow stop- go congestion , but if the traffic is just moving slowly they have so much torque that they can almost be driven like an auto if you select 2nd or 3rd 8-)
A heavy race type clutch makes things a lot harder work though
Just fitted a Ram heavy duty set on my ride , will discover later if it is a step too far ...
