Hi I have been a Chevy V8 fan for many years. My current vehicle is my pride and joy Camaro SS. I've had it some time and done many miles. I would now like to bring it home to the UK to the sweet rolling hills of Somerset that is in dire need of the audible V8 rumble.

My question is regarding the tail lights. Does anyone know where I can get amber indicator lenses?
I am thinking the rewiring is going to be difficult but I'd like to do it as a labour of love. I've had some experience with VOSA. My exhaust will be standard, the engine is unmolested so emissions should be okay, I will check though.

Any help, advice gratefully received or is there any recommendation of a company that carries out all the EU lighting modifications, idea of cost?

Please excuse all the questions, I'm now quite sure I want to bring it back and I know it will cost but I've enjoyed driving every 2,800 miles so far.

Thanks in advance.

They were sold in the uk so the lenses should be easily available

I would email Chevrolet.co.uk for a starting point, we have us automotive and wasp (Wisbech performance) here who amongst others would be worth approaching, possibly find a company from a magazine who specialise in importing American vehicles and ask

Thanks chap, I like it :-)
Have you checked out the costs of importing yet? Can get quite pricey with import duty and 20% vat, if you look for a forum called rods n sods in the trader or cars for sale section there are a few companies who specialise in importing and sva testing yanks, they would be able to give you the heads up on importation and sva testing for the uk MOT, might work out cheaper to let them bring it over and do it all for you, I k is I the car is under 30years old it gets quite pricey with duties, not sure what they would calculate it on as you own it already, about 30 years ago people used to get a friend who worked on a us airbase to fetch their personal cars over and avoided a lot of duty in the process, certainly wouldn't do any harm to find out :-)

I have owned the car in the US for more than a year so I think Tax is zero,so far its costs are around the £1200,as said that's so far.I think my Camaro is one of the best cars I have owned hence me being keen to bring it back home
I am waiting to hear back ref the IVA or Vosa costs,,,,fingers crossed
