Afternoon

I have a Camaro SS - I need to get the speedo converted from KPh to MPH - can someone advise/recommend somewhere to get this done please?

Car Details:1986 Camaro, bought into Spain by me in 1993.
305 replaced by a 355, 750 Demon carb, RPM AirGap intake, Brodix heads, Hedman Hedders, 3" Flowmaster exhaust.
Wheels are Summit aluminium 5 spokes, tyres are 245 rear 225 front BF Goodrich.
B/M transmission, battery relocated to the rear, GoodMark 4" cowl steel hood.
Location:Spain East Coast
Converted ?, that would be refacing the speedo.,
I think you´ll need to purchase an mph speedometer.

I learned km to mile math pretty quickly.

If it's a 30mph road, then it's 48kph. Easiest way i calculate it in my head is that you take the 6 that appears in 1.6 (1 mile = 1.6 km) and multiply it by the first number in the posted MPH speed. So in a 30 mph, multiply 6 by 3, you get 18. Add 18 to 30 (the 1 of 1.6 multiplied by 30 is 30) and then you get 48 kph.

Do that all day and you get the answer pretty quick after a few weeks :lol:

Thanks I have messaged them but not sure if they can do Camaros but will find out.

I have driven other kph cars but i prefer to have it properly converted if possible for UK roads.

A speedometer is a speedometer, it doesn´t know what vehicle it´s in.
Probably just needs a new face stuck on it in kph.

That's all they did on my old Jap import Mitsubishi,, new paper cover over old KMPH numbers..

I've always found it interesting that MPH speedo's always have KPH, but KPH speedo's don't have MPH :think:

Or are we talking about a different type of speedos
