A few months back I managed to get hold of some redundant railway sleepers. After a great deal of sweat and calorie burning (regular hand saw), I managed to cut them to size and put them to good usage...

...the driveway is sloped, I didn't feel comfortable with axle and stands...

...and the clearance they give is adequate for many a job.

To be fair the seller who sold me the car back in October 2015 did say "looks great from twenty foot". He was right, the cellulose paint job had seen better days, plenty of dead paint which really needed exfoliating! ;)

Here the door has been worked on but not the rear the quarter. The difference can be seen, heavy scratched and dull, the quarter is scathed with many an imperfection. I felt it really let the car down...

...I used these two products and applied by hand. I would recommend them to anyone with a cellulose paint job. No need for a machine polish due to the softness of the cellulose, and which could potentially remove more paint than I'd like...

Image

..took around two hours a panel (coffee breaks with vaping too ;) ) After the rear quarter had been attended too...

It's not perfect, and by far but overall I'm happy enough not to ahead with a blow over or bare re-spray at present...

...decent clarity in the reflection :) ...

Took a few days, and this was done back in January when the temperature was as it is now, but worth it...

Thanks :) I will say the iphone camera is flattering in that the detail it doesn't show. Plus the car isn't in direct sunlight. Nevertheless it's damn site better than it was.

Cheers, much appreciated

It's regular cellulose, with no clear coat. It would look better still if it had, though the Orange peel is minimal.

If It's cellulose you'll probably find its easier to polish by hand. However 2K clear over base should (if orange peel is minimal) look far better than mine.
