So, the wipers are in good condition but they are at least 6 years old. I bought a replacement pair from NPD but they were only the rubber strip with a metal backing, couldn't figure out how to swap it out. Where in the UK could i get some decent replacement ones and what style / fitment will work? I think i need the ones where you replace the whole unit, as opposed to just the blade, something like this?

If so, any recommendations? Don't mind a little extra for something decent like a silicone blade.

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

Do you have hide-away wipers? If so they need to be low profile, otherwise they hit the hood. I've been lucky with mine so far, but following with interest to see what you go with, as I'd considered the modern blade, but not looked into it yet.

Yes, they are hideaway and i currently don't have any clearance - i don't quite understand how they clear as you can't get a piece of paper through the gap, but it somehow doesn't scrape. Thanks for the headsup though, i never thought of a clearance issue with the new style ones. I'll have a look around but i probably won't change them out for a good few weeks, as they work ok, but they are showing signs of age. Will keep this post updated when i find something that will work!
