According to the link below, the weatherstrip is retained by a retainer plate that is screwed into the roof channel and also has double sided sticky tape on it. I've done the screw in bit and have installed the rubber too... so it's complete BUT i didn't use double sided sticky tape as i didn't know it should have it. So my question is, what happens if i leave it as is? By double sided sticky tape i think they mean to say a butyl style caulking that came in thin (1mm or so) strips, acting as a gasket between the retainer and the metal of the car body. Should i install some gaskety stuff?

Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

I didn't bother on mine as my roof rails came away with the foamy/rubber stuff still attached. Seems to be OK.

My door rubber leak really badly though, I need to replace them again. Something doesn't fit right somewhere and I don't know what.
