hiya,

hope the coil pack swap worked for you, i had exactly the same issue, changed plugs and leads , then got info about coil packs, bought one and did a swap out , one at a time , and sure enough it was the 3rd one that was dodgy, ran great after that..

WAYNE

Hi Wayne
I wish...... if you read my other post Horlicks.... you will get the picture. She's a couple more things to being uneconomical to repair. If its head gaskets labour alone will put her in the scrap mans grasp.

Head gaskets are fairly straightforward if you get a Haynes manual , torque wrench and a few basic tools and get stuck in ! You will beam amazed at what you can learn and feel even more amazed when you have done them :chevy:

Ahem, any major mechanical work on the 4th Gen is a nightmare due to the way the engine is set back under the bulkhead. The Haynes ( we tell you roughly how to do it, but leave out the important bits) manual describes the job as " difficult" ( translated unless your in a well lit workshop with several colleagues including a GM technician its friggin impossible!!) Im outside and on the road so Ill pass on that job.
