So, with the help of Bradley's Liquid Plastic I re-sprayed the required areas and fitted the dash cap.







The result as you can see isn't too bad, luckily the colour is pretty close and the finish isn't too far off. An improvement but not 100% as it could've been. I think the reason the cap doesn't marry up against the binnacle is that it could be difficult to remove the binnacle at a later date with the cap in place.

Door cards removed, masked and Liquid Plastic applied. Slowly but surely the ghastly carmine red disappears

I know you said it's not perfect, but that dash finish looks pretty darned good in the pics....

I hope the doors work out, and the paint sticks, as those areas get rubbed and touched a lot more..

Thanks Much appreciated. With regards to the paint so do I, I think Bradley's Liquid Plastic has a pretty good reputation, hope it lives up to it.







A few more photo's. The exact coverage of the dash cap can be seen, although the painted areas blend well and give a little more of a professional look.

After spraying the black, the door card is masked once again for the car's secondary colour. Anticipation and excitement building, not tested the custom paint made up for me by Bradley's as yet...



On goes the paint...



What a nice shade of purple, really pleased so far!

Off comes the masking tape a few hours later...



A great end result, I think the colour combination works so well I chose this shade of purple since it's very much a custom car/street machine colour.

On to the door pulls next...

Only just started reading this one. Good thread and great results.

I'm not sure that you can remove the lower dash (radio and passenger side) without removing the entire dashpad and attaching it from the back. You may get lucky if you remove the innards of the glove box, but you will be working blind.

Removing the dash isn't all that difficult, the worst part is working it out for the first time.
