I loaned a MAC tools OBD 2 scanner into the camaro today. And it says link error and when you use the VIN reader it says not supported........ any ideas the car is running as rough as 10 pint bird on a Saturday night........

Mine is a 1997 and is fully OBD2 compliant, did you have the ignition switched on when you turned the scanner on? I paid about £60 for mine which I can't remember if it came from eurocarparts or the bay of fleas, mine is a v8 but I can't see why that would make a difference ?

Ignition off. The Mac scanner is a mechanics version. He also loaned me one called pro tool. The Mac one knows the car is from Canada but says on the display not supported. Ive ordered a coil pack now awaiting arrival and will swap it around to see if that cures it

My scanner won't link to any car without the ignition switch being in the on position and will say "error linking to vehicle" with it turned off, this is not a camaro specific thing as it does the same on mercs, mitsis, vw's and Vauxhall so far , maybe try again with the ign switch on?

Your car is definatley OBD2 compliant, maybe wiggle the plug a bit or something?
