Direct from manufacturer.. pick whichever spec pads you want spending on use.. (I'd recommend Redstuff for most peoples use)

Avoid US made brake rotors if you can

Well i was not impressed with EBC,

I bought a full set of discs and pads and about 14mths later found i was getting vibration under braking. I had done no more that 10k miles, no track days or anything daft just normal use.

Local garage who does all my work said all 4 discs are warped. Of course i contacted EBC .

I received a standard letter saying this was not a warpage issue , and it would do no good replacing them they needed refacing on the car to true them precisely.

I do have the letter somewhere and would be happy to share it when i find it.

I had it done, £200 and it has been fine since, but i am well peeved and wont buy from them again.

Firstly, this was a generic letter. this happens a lot. they said quite rudely i thought, that there was no way they were replacing anything and this was the only way to cure the problem.

Well excuse me, but there was no wear on these discs, no discoloration, they have not been abused, and the original ones they replaced had lasted a damn site more than 10k without needing attention.

The garage said they were dodging the issue in their opinion, and there is always the "fit for purpose" argument. But i just wanted my car sorted, and then kind of forgot about it till this post came up.

So make your own mind up. EBC aren't all they are cracked up to be either.

EBC did have some quality issues a few years back, which I think have been resolved.. I've used em on loads of cars in last 5 years with good results for the money.... I think warped discs is a tough one, I've had a few random discs go on cars over the years without much pattern to price or quality. (my BMW didn't like Redstuff pads on standard discs for example)

This happened this year, the discs were bought last year.

They said it was not a warpage issue but a width variation or something, whatever it shouldn't happen. The garage said warped.

They didnt even do a personal reply just sent out a standard letter.

Three out of four pads were out.

I could maybe understand if they were stock discs with EBC pads, or vice versa and having issue, but as you bought a matched set from them... there's no excuse. As Stu suggests, a colourful note to the MD. They are putting out a defunct product to you and also treating you badly as a customer. That shouldn't be.
