just realised I never replied to your headlight query
No worries, thanks for the original advise, used it to go ahead with a set of those lights. They arrived on Friday but haven't had a chance to open the box. Aim to get them installed tonight, will let you know how it goes... thanks for the advise about them.

is there no outside chance, even if you leave the interior form example
There is an extremely thin one... if i can get the glass installed on Saturday, then i can get the subframe connectors welded in which means i can get fluid into the brake pipes and fuel lines. Need to also get a new gasket for the transmission pan and straighten out the transmission oil pan as it has leaked out its fluids. Need to install the locks, mirrors etc. which i was gonna do after clear sanding, but could get away with it. Interior is at the bottom of the list, as the front seats and dash are in, so that would work. Then would get it to MOT next Saturday. There is a chance, just a slim one lol.

I remember seeing a guide about fitting panels on 2nd gens that said to work from the rear quarters forward as the doors are the hardest bit, then fenders and hood together, then front end..
Ye, that's the one
Doors are lined up against the quarter and rocker panel. The bugger is getting the fender lined up... getting the vertical gap, the fender top to match the door top and the body line to match are err, fun lol. It's kind of like the contractors pyramid... you can have 2 but not all 3. Then there's also the depth of fender against the door. You move one and it affects the other so you're basically in a cycle, going over and over until it sits about right in all areas. Got a bigger gap on the drivers side door to fender. I've seen the way this usually gets fixed it by welding steel rod to the door / fenders edges and then filing back until you get a nice consistent gap. Sooo that won't be happening lol. It's sort of ok as is, will have to live with it as i've done about all the adjust that i can. Uploading some pics at the moment...
Are you planning on going still? What's the latest with the MOT situation?
