1993 Cadillac DeVille 4.9 v8
I just bought my first Camaro a few days ago though it's not my first american vehicle. I'm currently running a 93 Cadillac DeVille 4.9 v8 as a daily. I live in Suffolk. It's a 1980 229 v6 Berlinetta. So only a baby one but still turns heads none the less. So far I'm loving it. It has a few problems though but I'll make a new post for that stuff. Hardly any rust at all though as it's been ziebarted from the factory. It was imported in 1982. Here are some pics.

Wheels are Summit aluminium 5 spokes, tyres are 245 rear 225 front BF Goodrich.
B/M transmission, battery relocated to the rear, GoodMark 4" cowl steel hood.

Looks very tasty, nice interior too.

I had a 1978 Belinetta, nothing like yours though, mucky white with red interior.

Got anything planned for the motor ?

Edit: plonker me, a re read tells me it´s a V6.
Personally I´d save for a 350.

Thanks man. The engine feels tired and gutless but hopefully a new carb set up or a clean up of the rochester will solve it. The carb is currently giving me some grief. Would be nice to put a big block in there one day. I would like to stick on a front splitter with the front wheel arch flares if I can find one but that's about it. I'll be keeping her pretty standard barr under the hood.

Yeah that's the one. I thought he was a dealer too but it was a huge classic car parts company for MG's. He was selling it for a customer of his. Managed to knock him down on the price quite a bit though. :D

Shame it´s got that motor, I´ve never heard of a 229 before.
Are you SURE it´s that size, should be a 305.

Surely 229 equates to the standard 3.8 V6 by my calcs?
The 305 is the 5.0 litre

I did an edit saying on re read of the initial post he did say V6, I closed the page before the edit was loaded.

Personally I would´nt mess with the V6 but save for a 350.

Yeah definitely a 229. That's why it was a lot cheaper than the big block 2nd Gen's of this condition, I paid £4500. The body is outstanding. No rust at all as it's been ziebarted and dry stored. And It's totally original. I even have the original build sheet and all the import documents.
