I am envious of you considering this one. Enjoyed looking at the pics. I remember this last time around, think it had a tow bar and tried to talk someone into buying it then too.

Here's a finished US auction http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Camar ... ars_Trucks

$25k and these are going up in value.

1LE = Rare. 1LE 350 = Very Rare. 1LE Auto 350 = Rocking horse poo :D

It's worth the money, they go for LOTs more than that in the USA (I posted a link to one on here a month or so ago for $37.5k!!) and are going up there (and here) as such.

I'd love it, I'd pay the money, but don't have the money!

For what it's worth, they are worth the most (if you want an investment) in original condition. That one looks the wrong red so I think it's been re-sprayed, engine bay looks like the original color while external is more 'red', the original color is a bit more orangy. Seats are changed (look non original anyway), lights are blacked out, air box modified, blisters cut out, exhaust changed etc. These are all things I'd do (and have done) to my car, but they do devalue a rare motor.

That said, it'll only go up in value and it is low mileage, with history, looked after and VERY rare.

Personally, if you can afford it, go for it.

i would say £7500 is top whack on what i would pay, have a look in the us market and see what they are worth , for a car that old i would just equate £'s to $'s by the time you pay import and tax, you thinking about it then?
Are you kidding me? £7,500 is perfectly acceptable especially for a car this clean and a 1LE!! These are seriously rare. It's about time people who don't want to spend any money on these cars stopped buying these cars. Values in the US are picking up nicely and good luck finding something like this, importing it for anywhere near that money.

OP if you are looking at a nice un-molested top-of-the-line, only one in the UK cars, then this is it. I would buy this in a heartbeat if I wanted a thirdgen.
They made 80 hardtop 30th anniversary SS coupes with a six speed manual box, the majority were convertibles and t bars, most have been crashed or butchered for racing which makes my car extremley rare and original, it's even rarer with an LT1 engine than the 100 LT4 engined models they made, it has 60,000 miles on the clock, abs, airbags and is a lot nicer to drive than a 3rd gen, I paid £5,500 for it last year, unlike this 1LE it's original apart from a brake conversion , can you see where I'm coming from with value? I have put around £2 k i to it mechanicaly since I brought it

It's not the 4th gens time just yet, be a few more years yet :) Whether its nicer to drive than a sorted thirdgen is subjective, I've driven all sorts of both and I prefer the 3rd.

The LT1 is not as desirable as the LT4, nor as quick. Anyway yours is not a COPO, that is the key denominator here. Anniversarys never sell that well for whatever reason in any generation. So not sure I can see your argument as you are going on rarity. The 3rd en 4cyl (iron duke) is very rare but worth much now? No.

I don't want to put your car down, I'm sure it's awesome. But it's not a COPO/1LE and that is the argument with this car.

I'm not putting either car down but desirability plays a huge part in value as does originality, most people have never hear of a 1le but they all know what an SS is, also park the 1LE up amongst a bunch of other3rg gens and nobody would notice the difference which plays a huge part of it being desirable, plus someone mentioned it looked like it has been re sprayed which knocks a significant amount off of the value in today's current market, there are thousands of companies or people in the UK who can take a banger and make it look good as new and restored camaros whilst looking brilliant and being real eye candy are now a lot less desirable than ones that have their originality, I think the current term is "survivors" . I was watching a programme the other day where someone was actually going round with a device that tests how many microns thick the paint was to check the car hadn't been sprayed or filled ! I would love to own that 1LE and it's got to be one of the most desirable 3rd gens going and if it sported the COPO badge as a standard fixture it would definatly push the price up, but it doesn't , and it's been partly resorted, and has lots of non standard parts, at the end of the day like mine it's only worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it , I think £7500 is pushing the boundries for any 3rd gen regardless of its heritage (it's not a famous race car) and £9500 is extremley optimistic, in ten years time maybe but unless you buy it and garage it it will be well into six figures on the odometer by then, I hope the op does get it but also pays a lot less than the asking price , the rarity with mine is the fact that it was the first year the SS badge was reintroduced and the only SS to have the LT1, it's not the 30th anniversary that makes it desirable as all camaros produced that year were "30th anniversary" but the complete options package and this one had every box ticked on the order sheet, my last Camaro was an IROC and it's miles away from my current one as far as driveability goes

Ok, you started with the whole 'my car drives nicer than your car' thing. In my opinion the 4th gen is like driving a Toyota. There, that's my opinion.

I really don't know what your problem is with the whole 1LE but you fail to see fact and evidence AND collectibility. The one in the US sold for $25k did you see that? Did you? What exactly is your point that successfully counters that?

The highest performance spec of any car will generate the most interest and money. The 1LE is the epitome of the 3rd gen and possibly the Firehawk in the 4th generation. The fact that a dozen overweight brummies waving American flags in a field in England somewhere don't know what a 1LE is doesn't bother me. Collectors do and they are the ones that spend the money.

Smokin'.

Lose the tinted lights, the offset and put the original wheels on and that right there is awesome. It just looks right.

So you gonna buy it?

Offset definitely needs seeing to. At the minute I,m looking to see who can cover a shift for me. This car is a thousand mile round trip so not just a 'pop over' for a look.
