I'm in need of a rev counter for my 79 Z 28 mine sits at 6000 rpm and goes up from there.

Or any idea's on a fix for the circuit board on it?

Thanks :)

Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

  not going fast at my age

OK that would be great I need either a complete 79 OE tacho that work's or just the circuit board off the back as I've tried 2 unit's (dial's if you like) with 2 different boards and one board makes it sitt at 2500rpm and the other board makes them start at 6000rpm and go up too 7500rpm when you touch the throttle , if you PM me with what you want for it and your email I'll paypal you some money.

If its easier than stripping a dash unit may be I could buy the whole thing? if you have one.

Cheer's, Kevin

How strange, it's nothing to do with the wiring from the dizzy is it?

Let me have a look this weekend for you when i'll be back in the garage and i can see how the unit looks, i'm pretty sure the tach can be taken out easily but i'll check for you either way.

Are those the ones that sit in the front bumper? I should have 2x stock amber ones, i'll check in the garage for those too.

Cheers!

Ray

I've tried them off the Battery, Positive and negative, and a wire from the Tacho side of the dizzy but same reading, but when I fit one from a 75 model it work's fine so I think it must be the Tacho.

The Tacho's are marked up + - and Tach so easy to test.

Yes that's the one in the bumper but they are sort off square'ish not round like the earlier ones, that would be great if you could find some :)
