I know it's a bit early, but does anyone on here ever attend this yearly event at North Weald Airfield in July?

Always attend if the weather is good .
Good day out and they sometimes do a bit of racing on the airfield .

Damn Yankees laid on a Drag-race event, with a team from Santa Pod doing the timing etc. in August 2009, instead of the normal static meet.
It was set up at the other end of the airstrip (I have many photos).
I don't think they have done so since, although I believe North Weald run other drag meets there, but I have no info on those.

FYI, This will most likely clash with the Uxbridge bash mentioned in a separate post.

Never been as I'm usually at santa pod but I am on a mission to attend as many events and meets as I can this year now I have a yank again

Probably but sod that for a laugh, I have been a few times as we used to run a rocket car there about ten years ago but I don't love beetles, parking problems, out of their skull wannabe surfers or getting refused entry at the gate after queing for three hours enough to go to that event ever again , it's a good event though if you have never been and like the old nazi go-karts

Ha ha, reading your last post brought back memories of a decades-old article in Surfer magazine about "Surf-Nazis" and a picture of guys wearing chromed copies of german WW2 army helmets, with shorts & T-shirts, on the beach.
I know.......I should get back on the meds.

Back to the topic, I'm OK with Beetles, but given the choice, it's got to be North Weald for me.
