Car Details:1974 Camaro, fitted with a '73 front clip, 302 Engine sprayed in Purple.
Hi, just thought I'd pop my head in here and say hello. I'll be picking up my new project this weekend. a '74 Camaro with what I can assume is a '73 Front clip, a 302 Small Block mated to a TH350 auto.
I found it on Ebay, which initially put me off, but I went to view it and its actually not bad at all, VERY straight and not a piece of rust that I can find!
I'm familiar with similar cars (I've owned a 71 Firebird, and two 77 Trans-Ams) but this is my first Camaro, and I'll hopefully be on this site a bit posting up details of the project, and hopefully getting some well needed info on the car!

In the mean time, if anyone can point me in the right direction to source the following items, I know these are bits I want to change.

RS bumperettes (Currently has the later wrap around bumper)
Parking Light Lenses (Currently missing)
Some Decent Wheels - Currently has some wheels which are not to my liking - looking for some Rocket Racing Wheels, or Torq Thrusts, but I'd be willing to look at anything really (I know North Hants Tyres stock them, but I'd prefer 2nd Hand!)
Chrome Head light surrounds

I'll upload some pics

Mark

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the club! That looks nice... ye it looks like the front clip has been put on by someone who preferred the earlier front end. Is there much work that needs doing to it for it to be driveable?

Dibs on the wheels, let me know what width they are and the kinda £ you would sell em for. What style are you thinking of changing them for?

Cheers!

Ray

Looking to get some deep dish wheels - I quite like the modern/retro feel of updating the wheels but keeping the rest original!
It doesn't really need much work at all (Fingers Crossed) - The guy I've bought it off has had it for 15yrs, and the last 10yrs of that its been in a garage with him slowly restoring it - He lost interest and need the space. Its had pretty much new everything! Just needs the interior sorting (Its already been reupholstered), minor wiring, a few mechanical bits and generally a good mop over as the paint has dulled. Its had all new polybushes throughout, new lines (fuel/brakes), fresh engine rebuild, just needs a bit of fettling!

Ray, My new wheels should be turning up today, so these should be available if you are still interested. As for price.....I've not much of an idea what the going price is but size wise they are 14 x 7.5J on the front and 15 x 8.5J on the back if memory serves. Tyres have plenty of tread all round. Make me an offer I can't refuse :)

Hi Mark,

Thanks for sorting out the wheels

Sorry we didn't get to meet, took ages to get down there, we were very optimistic about Friday night M25 traffic lol. Tried them on the car and they look good, just need to get some mag style lug nuts as i didn't realise they need special lug nuts with sleeves on them to fit properly. Would have been good to see your Camaro, are you taking it up to American Speedfest?

Cheers,

Ray
