Easiest way to jack on the body is on the front subframe as it's the most solid bit of metal on the car, and easily accessible from the side.
Yep, what chevystu says. I jack up the front via the subframe. It's long enough to get a jack under there and then place an axle stand. For the rear, i place a jack under the diff and then place axle stands under the leaf spring mount plates.

I believe the rear can also be jacked up via the big rear impact steel bar.
That's great :) I've got Cal Trac bars on mine, I'm guessing the bars they've been welded to will suffice also?

I thought Cal Tracs were just adjustable traction bars, and just bolt on the front section of the leaf from the plate on the axle to the front spring mount ?

Car Details:1986 Camaro, bought into Spain by me in 1993.
305 replaced by a 355, 750 Demon carb, RPM AirGap intake, Brodix heads, Hedman Hedders, 3" Flowmaster exhaust.
Wheels are Summit aluminium 5 spokes, tyres are 245 rear 225 front BF Goodrich.
B/M transmission, battery relocated to the rear, GoodMark 4" cowl steel hood.
Location:Spain East Coast
Not advisable to jack on trailing arms or lower A arms, they could distort.

I put axle stands under the front lower A arms but not the rear trailing arms.

To get mine up and work under it I first jack the front up under the cross member
then I slide the ramps under the wheels and lower the car onto the ramps.
I place one ramp forward the other rearward, then the car cannot move forwards or backwards while I´m jacking the rear.
I cannot drive the front onto ramps as the spoiler hits.
I then jack the rear under the diff and put axle stands under the axle, lower it.
Back to the front, jack the car again and place axle stands under the A arms, 3rd gens have no side rails to put stands under.
This time I went back and jacked the rear relocating the axle stands to the trailing arm mounts forward of the axle.
Long winded but I don´t wanna be squashed.

Thanks for the information supplied and the photo's. Gives me a good idea of what it actually looks like, safely when on the stands :)

There must be jacking points underneath his car too, just needs figuring out.
