Hi All I'm in need of some seat belts for my 68 either a full set or singles I'm not fussy on condition as long as I can get them to work, three point for the front would be good or WHY or even any types of UK car's that I can make fit, I'm sure someone must have cobbled something together from another car by now

Hi
Try eBay as they pop up sometimes, but I always use heartbeat city in the USA as they are fantastic with all stock products. Good luck

Hi, If it's a coupe I think the 68's all have fixing points in the roof, although they are likely to be hidden by the lining. A company called Morris Classic Concepts make sets to fit, although you could probably use Securons. Same goes for the rears. If you have a convertible it's a whole different story, unless you have a roll bar. I bought some 3 point static securons and welded one of their square threaded anchor plates just inboard of the rear window a few inches back from the door shut. Works pretty well, and the fixing is hidden under the trim panel, I guess you could use intertias if you wanted to, just put the reel down by the sill fixing point. The one thing I would watch out for is that you will need to slightly enlarge the bolt hole in the Securons stalk to be able to use the original GM anchor bolt- don't know what they make them from, but it is not easy! Good Luck.

Ooop's sorry I havn't been on here for a while so thanks for the replies, I have got a convertible Johnny, but this one is a hard top so I think I may go with the same place as you to fit a three point and run the real down through the ash tray hole, ha ha like you say seat belt steel is hard stuff.

You might want to take a look at this Youtube video:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAL-xqq8bfM

Its all about putting 3-point belts in a '68 coupe.

Johnny.

OK quick up date on the belts I fitted :)

I used some from a Fiat van (because I have a scrap one) and fitted the recoil real in the rear arm rest and ran the belt up through the ashtray hole to the square hole in the roof rail using a T-piece made from the slider that was in the door post of the van, on the drivers side I had to move the dome light wiring though, but every thing else was easy enough :)
