Your car sounded and performed well and by it's condition is a credit to the previous owners 8-) unlike some ...
Just a thought that may help you -check the condition of the spark plugs immediately if it is smoking badly ( don't warm it up or wait for the smoke to clear ) it could be that only a couple of the seals have failed and once you have identified the cylinders you could just do the ones that have failed .
Might save a little time :thumbup:

Car Details:1986 Camaro, bought into Spain by me in 1993.
305 replaced by a 355, 750 Demon carb, RPM AirGap intake, Brodix heads, Hedman Hedders, 3" Flowmaster exhaust.
Wheels are Summit aluminium 5 spokes, tyres are 245 rear 225 front BF Goodrich.
B/M transmission, battery relocated to the rear, GoodMark 4" cowl steel hood.
Location:Spain East Coast
I can´t go along with that, if a couple have failed the rest won´t be far behind.

In theory I agree with you , but some times the seals fail prematurely due to a defect or being damaged when fitted and there is no need to fit all the seals just make a note of what has been changed and do the others when it is convenient .

Car Details:1990 Camaro 5lt RS manual with T-tops.
First off i apologize for the poor spelling and reading, was read and replied on my phone.

"He's" Looks to be an Auto-Correct for head, and you could do 1 head in 2-3 hours. Which makes doing the second head a lot quicker due to everything else already being off (mostly).

I also see him asking if it was hard, i told him the way i would do it and the fact its not hard on a push rod engine(with hydraulic lifters i assume?). If you was to be doing headers, or any other top end modifications at the same time then you could do the whole lot at once. Also you don't have to worry about tappets, cam timing or any of the annoying little things like you do on over head cam engines (apart from dizzy, but that's easy enough just mark where it was).

Mine smokes worst than a locomotive on start up lol! Ive not fixed it due to everything getting replaced at once; Heads, intake manifold, headers, sequential LPG system, New Roller Rockers, push rods, camshaft and other bits of bobs.

I wasn't referring to the fact that lubricating guide/valves stems is a bad thing, more the fact the guy said it smokes on start up and is noticeable enough to be embarrassing. That itself is not good and i thought you indicated its normal for these cars.
