That UJ clearance is tight isn't it.. :shock:
The trans will be the biggest difference I guess with nice low rpm cruise now.. 8-)

What upper arms did you go for ? I've got the adjustable SPC ones cos they looked like the best way to get the specs without shimming loads, and can be changed for a bit of experimenting.

Cruise RPM is going to go up a bit with the 4.11 rear end, about 200rpm increase at 70mph. Not too worried about that though.

The UJ should be ok, there's not much side-to-side movement at the rear of the transmission. If it hits I'll make some minor adjustments later.

I went for the QA1 street upper arms, they should be a reasonable improvement over stock, adding about 3 deg caster and 1 deg neg camber.

Done a few miles with the new axle and transmission. Got a couple of minor issues to sort out, waiting for some more parts to arrive to modify my driveshaft. Seems 45.5" is about 1" too short with the 12 bolt, fitting a longer slip yoke which should put the right amount of spline inside the transmission for better engagement on the rear bushing. It's currently a bit on the short side, especially with the short TH350 slip yoke.

Also found I had an issue with my Megasquirt ECU losing sync at 5300rpm, an issue with the VR conditioner circuit. I'd had problems early on with the install with RPM signal stability. Made some modifications today and fitted a different VR circuit which seems to have solved the problem.

Decided it was about time I gave the car a good clean up too, the wheels were looking in a bit of a sorry state. Polished alloy doesn't hold up too well in the wet UK winters. They looked a lot better after a few hours with a polishing mop.

is acceleration a bit snappier now then... :D

Hope you get the RPM send issues sorted.. Still mulling over some kind of EFI conversion... Got some bodywork tidying and respray to pay for first really..

Are those Federal RSRS 595 tyres ? that's a semi track day tyre if so..

I have serious grip issues! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Think I have the RPM issue sorted, should find out tomorrow.

They are Federal 595 tyres, but not the fancy track day ones. Currently running 255/55/17 on the back. Can go up to 275 comfortably, but don't want to really drop diameter too much so don't really want to go lower then 45 profile. Need to have a look around and see what's available

Car Details:1986 Camaro, bought into Spain by me in 1993.
305 replaced by a 355, 750 Demon carb, RPM AirGap intake, Brodix heads, Hedman Hedders, 3" Flowmaster exhaust.
Wheels are Summit aluminium 5 spokes, tyres are 245 rear 225 front BF Goodrich.
B/M transmission, battery relocated to the rear, GoodMark 4" cowl steel hood.
Location:Spain East Coast
C´mon show us the sucker.........or blower.

It looks a bit shabby, but it's mechanically good. Will be giving it a clean up and gathering parts to build a low compression engine (about 8.5:1). Planning on running around 8-10psi of boost. Should make life interesting :lol:

Not planning on a simple install though, going to be keeping fuel injection with a plate mounted between the throttle bodies and the blower. Need to either find another 1000cfm throttle body to match the one I have, or I will be buying a couple of 800cfm carb base plates and machining up bodies for them. It's not going to be an off the shelf parts build! :thumbup:
