It's racing. Sound is not important, speed is. People with slow cars worry too much about sounding fast IMHO.
Cheers, Martin

Ahh! Now if you really want to see boring, try almost any youtube video of any drag racing..........minutes of prancing about, burnouts, test launches, backups, revs blah blah blah then a couple of seconds of noise and squirt to the next lamp post. BORING.
Any idea how quick F1 cars are? Check it out, then try to figure how to drive one for say an HOUR, not just a few seconds as in Drug racing, around corners, with 2 dozen other similar cars, maybe in the wet, not only under perfect conditions as the point/squirt racers do.
Sorry, spent many years drag racing and doing other motorsport and now find circuit racing infinitely better on many levels, so please don't compare F1 or any real racing to drag racing, and don't try to tell me that point/squirt is more interesting than any circuit racing. Or sprinting. Or rallying.
Yeah, you don't want to touch that raw nerve with me.
Cheers, Martin

There's a few videos from Spa (might have even put it on here) that overlays the F1 cars with a track day, and the speed difference, as you can imagine, is phenomenal...

Here ya go Stu

The ride in a GT car would seem extremely fast & scary, but not a patch on F1 as you can see

cheers...Nige

Very interesting vid there and pretty amazing when you think that the human body is only designed for a top speed around 8-10mph, that the brain can adapt to taking in and processing data at such a rate. Well, some people's brains anyway.....
Cheers, Martin
