Me again chaps, apologies constantly asking questions.

Has anyone fitted some aftermarket seats to a 4th Gen?

the standards are ok but not much support, I absolutely loved the Recaros I had in my Accord Type R, they will fit in terms of height but I am clueless as to how they would be made to fit.

Is there a rail set that exists to fit them or would i need to go to a fabricator? If the latter can anyone recommend anyone?

Cheers,

Ferdi

Yo Ferdi. I`m unashamedly replying to this post only because you mentioned an Accord Type R.

I can go with the seats no being the best in the 4th gen Camaros although I went to France and done 1800 miles in only a couple of days and they weren`t the worst.

4th gen Camaro and Accord type R. Same age, thats about it. You could spend £20,000 on your Ls1 Camaro and it`ll never drive like the Accord. I had a 51 plate 45k mile Type R Accord only a few years ago and it was the best all rounder I`ve ever had. Like you say the Recaros are perfect but you know it,s more than just the seats.. Seating position, pedal set, steering, dash layout, gearbox, gearchange, clutch the lot. Sure, its no match in a straight line but for a driving machine.................massively underrated. I dare say a new seat of seats would change the old girl. let us know of you make the change.

mine has aftermarket seats, its just to make some clever brackets up really, the pufferfishman has a 5 point harness too, but the rear seats are taken out and it mounts to the old seat mount. i can get a pic of the seat mounts for you on tuesday if you want? (im in norway and the car is in uk at the mo!)

Cheers guys.

Agreed mate the Accord was a fab car, apart from always sounding like it was going to fall apart with vigour, it used to grip far better than it righfully should have done.

Did a few bits to mine, made it handle and go a bit better. I'll post some pics up when I can if you are interested.

Scubabiker, some pics of the mounts would be great if you could. Where did you get them from or are they bespoke? is it just a case of giving car and aftermarket seat to a good fabricator and saying "go nuts"?

If possible I'd like to maintain some kind of adjustment, I'm the only one that drives the thing but you never know.

Cheers again.

Ferdi

it was my dad that had the car before me, he made some adapter plates to fit the original runners, so the aftermarket seat has the adjustments of the standard seat. will get a pic next week as my car is currently being shipped over here!
