Dear Nick
Fantastic Stuff

Can we have some photos of camaro with various prizes?

Roddie Feilden's racing has been curtailed by my asking him to be my best man- and we go over to stay with him w/e 16 Nov- I shall pass on yr regards

You did well to beat the Morgan in class A!

You have discovered a little known secret

Camaros are simply wonderful in the wet- they surprise everyone.........................!!

Car Details:1969 SS, originally a 396, now a 350. Never having raced an American V8 before, I am not the world's expert on Camaros ! But I read Road & Track and HotRod Magazine from the early Sixties (yes, it's the only thing I can rememberabout the 60s) and always wanted one.

Also race a 1965 Alfa GTA, and drive a 1938 Lancia Aprilia and a 1922 Talbot 8.
Tim,
Thank you. I must also give lots of credit to Martin Savill, RPM nr Tilford, who is a proper engineer, ex-racer and very knowledgeable about these cars and their contemporaries. I am not an engineer and what I do not know about Chevys would fill several encyclopaedias. Martin has gone through this car from front-to-back and made it reliable and confidence-inspiring. The engine/trans & diff are untouched, but just about everything else has been checked ancd re-engineered where necessary.

Since it looks as though the engine has not been apart since 2001, (last invoices), I think I will ask Martin to give it a birthday this winter.

Photo attached, I hope .... Brands Hatch in July

Nick

Jeez! Morgan plus8's are allowed to weigh 850kg? No wonder I can't catch them, my gearbox weighs more than their whole car! And to think they were a little unhappy that my car was 1465kg at weigh-in! Maybe it's time to give up....... :(
Cheers, Martin

Please send my best to Martin

he gave Butch a huge makeover in the 90s and restored Camilla in the 90s and also made Roddie's ZL1 69 which now sits with Scott racing (with FIA papers/ZL8 brakes - and 650 bhp!)

Martin and I had a lot of fun together on track and off it! He is renowned for giving you a brake pedal that works the RPM bleed.

I still have RPM stickers on Butch!

great guy.....................

As far as Moggies are concerned- well there's those who pay attention to what gets through FIA - and helps their causes -and those that "do not race".
The Former includes Morgan (and Ford) and the latter include Chevrolet (and Jaguar).

Of note (and I am rambling here Ed) is that Jag and Chev have the same pcd wheel spacing!
