Great stuff! Would probably have gone if I hadn't been busy, looks to have been a good show.
Never fancied it myself, looks too tight and 'twiddly', I'm more of a 'gross speed' person....
Cheers, Martin

Lovely to meet you Stu

Yes I beat my handicap and achieved a third on the Saturday

Sunday went even better I got down to 52 secs _H Cap was 53.65

It is far too tight a course to enjoy Butch to the full- but I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed the whole event- the ambience, the crowds etc were superb

Will put something together later- talked to some guy with a wonderful black new Camaro with 590 hp!
I am threatebing to come back in May (with Herman)

I met a whole lot of MG ZT owners (and Rover equal) not all were the v8 Mustang engined machines

there must have been over 20 of them............. at an American Weekend spectacular.

Just thought I would register here the fact that
1 Only 1 Camaro was participating
2 I only saw 2 Camaros per day in the carpark- one was an amazing Gen2 Supercharged machine

We have had this issue before-we as Camaro owners seem to suffer from a notable reticence to become involved/turn up to relevant events- even if cut price tickets are available........

I suspect this is a result of all of us being of such diverse backgrounds with other significant interests that it takes a lot to get us into action- what do you think?

In CCCUK early days I would only become involved in show and shine events if my good works benefited some charity and subsequently found that being an active competitor did not leave me any time for the CCCUK Members admin/area.

Not sure what the solution is other than to suggest that you guys may have missed an amazing event (at Prescott All American Weekend where the MG/Rover ZT group fielded some 23 cars). Should we have more notice of good /must see events in the calendar- ?

Sportsroof's 19 Oct meet at Silverstone looks like fun for eg?
grateful for suggestions here

Set out below is the Press release we have put out etc:

Tim Boles took his monster Camaro to the famous Bugatti Owner’s club American Classic All American Stars and Stripes Weekend of racing at Prescott Hillclimb for US cars see http://www.prescott-hillclimb.com/event ... r2011.aspx.

The car is “Butch” a 600 bhp 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Racing Car (with MOT!)
The ever-popular Autumn Classic event at the famous Prescott Speed Hill Climb was once again be all-American Stars and Stripes weekend celebrating the biggest, brightest, and brashest cars this side of the pond. Saturday and Sunday 5 and 6 October 2013 saw special displays by American car clubs alongside USA-themed entertainment while competitors in a range of national championships tackle the 1127-yard course set deep in the glorious Gloucestershire countryside.
Special displays included American car clubs and motorcycles from Pontiacs, Mustangs, Cadillac’s, and Chevys to Flatheads, Hotrods, Indians, Harleys and Custom Choppers. There was a welcome return of the Vintage Hot Rod Association and the National Chopper Club. Many more fascinating American vehicles are confirmed, including a 1934 Ford Hot Rod, a 1934 TransAm, a 1968 TransAm, a 1934 Model 40 Phaeton UXB 402, Donald Trump's original stretch Cadillac, a 1969 Cadillac, a 1968 Mustang, a '57 Chevy, a 1939 Hudson, a 1939 Plymouth, a 1923 Ford T Bucket and a 1964 GMC. Meanwhile the paddock will be rocking with the Birmingham Blues Brothers (Saturday) and popular rockabilly bands “The Bravo Boys” (Sunday).

In front of huge crowds Butch in beautiful weather managed to come third in the respective classic Classes- only being beaten by the British Hillclimb champion -Roger Moran in a Hillclimb special Porsche 911 on Sunday.
The Racing Camaro is quite possibly the most inappropriate car to try to compete with on such a tight circuit, and Tim never got beyond second gear!
Managing to overhaul several more nimble cars which weighed considerably less than the Camaro- Tim Boles the driver commented “I might have gone even quicker if I didn’t have to do a three point turn halfway up!” In car video can be seen here:

And external video can be seen here:

Tim Boles is Managing Director of Equilibrium Pensions the largest International Pension provider and administrator on the Isle of Man

Sounds like you had a lot of fun there  Didn't realise the course was so short... or should that be, didn't realise your car could make the course so short ;)

NB my post on the latest Z/28 storming round the Ring:
http://www.classiccamaroclubuk.com/phpB ... =10&t=3475

With a mere 505 bhp and 470 ft torque (and 7 litres)

wonder what Butch would do it in...................................?

(driven by someone with the "knowledge" of course

Yes Prescott is pretty short!
