So when I got back from the states I fitted some nice chrome valve covers and at the same time I decided to remove the AIR emissions system ,was majorly in the way of the offside cover.
Well struggling to get that side to seal which is sodding annoying but after driving it down the road after a mile the engine just stops, will restart lumpy and not idle. If I leave it a cpl of minutes it starts runs great for about another mile then just stops again.
When I have it in the garage it runs fine on tick over and revs freely, had it running for over 30 mins with no issues ,as soon as I drove it about a mile stops again.
Any ideas??

Sounds like fuel pump giving up that is the main symptoms of it, however if its happened straight after the air was removed I would check that over first, what did you remove?

Fuel pump replaced last year .
I removed all the pipes from the compressor and sealed the pipes on he manifold. Removed the black box that the pipe from the compressor went into and pulled the two plugs off from it, which I am guessing went to sensors in the box, they have two cable, red and black on each connector.

A complete shot in the dark, but could it be a manifold pressure leak? The sensors may be picking up on it as soon as the RPM's go up and hence cut out when driving and not at idle? Can you get a pressure gauge plugged in somewhere?

Where would be the manifold pressure sensors?
Are they the ones I disconnected out of hat AIR box?

The two wire plugs are to the air solenoids. With air removal some cars are fine and run with no probs but some can bring up a load of troubles. However air removal doesn't usually cause the problem your having.

I refitted the air solenoid, did the same trip as did yesterday and it seemed better, will take it out for another run tomorrow and see if it is that, then will be left with trying to get rid of the solenoid if it is that,will let you know

Well ran I today with the air solenoid plugged in but no pipe work other than the compressor connected and it ran fine. So any ideas how I can bypass this?

Think this might be one for rocky to assist with.
Have now found where the oil is coming from, would appear the dip stick is being pushed up and oild spraying out from there ( only when engine under load,but after a mile it's loads of oil)
Have been told I may have reconnected a breather wrongly bad it's blowing instead of sucking!
( never a good thing lol)
Any one got any ideas it was running great before I started messing!
