As Arizona says, Paris is always busy, and just a pain. Road signs are very confusing and badly marked. I'd try and avoid as much of the motorway as poss and stick the the smaller or coast roads if you have time, so much more scenic.
Google some of the motorbike routes and they'll have some great ideas for lovely roads and scenery.

I have been looking at routes and arriving in Zeebrugge I fancy driving towards Calais then cutting down and across. OR I could take the ferry to Calais and drive straight from there cutting out Belgium altogether. Still have to decide.

Heard a slight squeak from the 28 today on braking. A bit of coppaslip needed I guess. The thing hasn`t seen rain since I`ve had it and its extremely and unusually dry here. I`ve driven it most days and gave it a wee bit of a caning yesterday. A bit of a reminder its not to mucked about with .....................

Wednesday mate. Heading across country to stay in Berwick upon tweed for a night then down the A1 to Hull on the Thursday. Arrive Belgium Friday morning then make my way along the top of France towards the west coast.
