No that will just melt.

you can still buy the right switch though and I'm sure I've seen them on ebay for something like an old mini or triumph spitfire. they were made by Lucas I think

ye i purchased the foot light switch i think from NPD. Failing that, something similar to what you have found but maybe a higher amperage rating? 10amps x 12volts = 120 watts, i think each bulb is 60, so you'll be right on the limit with that one. Cheers! Ray

Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

Now then Steve you ok  i think the switch (if its the same as the 3rd gen Camaros )looks the same also has a dimmer built into it for your clocks and switch for interior lights ,if it is i would try and replace it with the same (but one that works  )Cheers Neil .What is wrong with your switch :?:

Yes the Durite one would do but if you found the older lucas type it would fit on the socket and not need to cut the wires to join it.

I would not use the other type of dash mounted switch as technically it should not pass an MOT as its not within finger tips of the steering wheel.

If you can't find the right switch I think I can still get them down here so I could get you one or I always use Rock auto's because VAT is charged at source so it comes direct to you with no extra duties or that stupid expensive letter from the post office. Its an easy site to use and very cheap, but like always its the shippng thats the killer unless it comes from there ware house over here but most of it is from the US.

OK I've had a search through the mountian of spares and found 2 second hand switches so if you don't have any luck finding one I have 2 to choose from one about 2 inches tall and the other about 2.5 inches the short one look as if its not very old they are both from F-bodies so they will plug in to your loom and screw in the same holes in the floor.

£10 each Plus postage if you want one :)

I see what you did there, because the light switch, and the connection isn't working... ah it's late

Ye it should make a nice on / off click sound, guess it's the switch that's knackered then.
