A lot of people just didn't 'get' these cars at the time - dragracing ruled. Very underrated for a long time but being appreciated now with prices rocketing. It takes very little to make them into real flyers...... :o
Cheers, Martin

Car Details:68 pontiac firebird coupe project car,my aim is a street friendly, lightly modified pro.touring style.
Lowered ,mild body mods,400 cu in SBC engine, Muncie 4speed, 10 bolt posi axle, disc front drum rear.
68 firebird convertible ( long term project) Stock resto/mod style ,400 pontiac th350
Gotta love those early second gen Trans Ams.
Beautiful body style and a killer power plant plus excellent handling for spirited driving
The early '70s was a great era for style and horsepower till OPEC and the politicians and insurance premiums did away with these great cars...Would have been great to be around in those days and walk into a Pontiac dealer with a deposit to put down on a Trans Am or maybe a Formula 400 8-)

Try to resist those temptations, and concentrate on your 1st gen, it really gets difficult if you get more than 1 !
Trust me on this, I speak as an addict  and if you get more than 1 they all suffer and end up being lesser cars than they could be unless you are in the lots of spare time and money club...
On the other hand the early bullnose Firebird and shark front Camaro are both great cars, owned 2 '73 Camaros back in the day and still bitterly regret selling a very solid 6 cyl manual version :(
Like the look of that '67  ,did you notice the '69 Trans Am hood ?
That 2 tone paint scheme reminds me of Smokey Yunnick's old no.13 racer, works well and seems to suite a few of the pro-tourers that are coming along now.

Don't like the look of those cowl hoods on the Firebird 1st gen personally .
If I was building a drag racer I might consider it just for the airflow , but to me they look fugley
I recently found a real 400 twin scoop hood for my coupe and that is the one I prefer for looks, might have to compromise on the air cleaner, can't have it all :P
