Gen 1 pontiacs and Camaros are of course v similar under the skin (except engines)

I have Cooper Cobra GTS Radial 245 60 15s on back on Camilla they don't look too bad IMO!

Very difficult to find big enough 15 Iinch tyres in UK with a sensible speed rating!

Going back to your previous post the Cobras look good in my opinion.
I have used 235 and 245s on the back of my hardtop but 225 seems to be the limit on the front.
It is harder for us '67 and '68 owners as GM did not provide us with such generous wheel apertures as the later cars...
Lowering my ride height front and rear may present some challenges as well... and I also insist on keeping my front inner wheel wells that some owners junk.
Maybe some time you could post something on Camilla as we don't get enough soft top material on here

You should be able to fit 235/60/15 BFGs on the front even if lowered

Camilla was way too low at the front at one stage (we cut the springs) but with 7x15 Rallye wheels the larger tyres still fitted

Now whilst competing in Chomondley Pageant of power in 2010 we ran Camilla (because Butch's engine wasn't ready in time!) with 225/60/15 Yoko 0032Rs on 7x15 daytona steels with much less backspacing.

Would have had larger but there again you can't find a large enough 15 hi spec tyre in UK!

I know that Camilla looks a bit high at the back - but have now raised fronts with a hotchkiss set of springs to even things out but she rides really well- on those trick carbon fibre rear springs.

Now we think we can go 275/50/15 Hoosiers on 8x15 rears (on Butch) we might try them on the front first. But since we have kept the inner wheelarches intact turning circle is severely compromised!

I have a brand new pair of Revolution 10x15 wheels that will not fit Butch -- shame and double drat- but they might fit a 69 or a gen 2? Having trouble with the new Flickr settings!

Thanks for the quick response Tim, nice to hear that lowering mine will not be an issue...
Some good pictures of Camilla, the dark blue with red interior looks like a rare combination and is something I remember from some older MK2 Jags Midnight blue paint and deep red leather...very dramatic contrast and looks great in my opinion .
The slightly higher rear on Camilla is also a good look, reminds me of an era of street-racer that I like.
With the soft top cars the only limitation is the lack of decent weather to enjoy them with the top down in this country but I suppose it makes us appreciate the warm sunny days more...

Nige and Martin on here will tell you that the inner wheel housing is structural and when removed and on a jack, you can see the door gaps reduce more-so than normally. I've recently been working on the fenders on mine and the fenders did become more solid when bolted into the wheel well housing.
