Car Details:1988 IROC-Z, custom interior from the 90s.
I'm tracking down the source of a rotational sort of noise (comes in after about 20 minutes of town driving, doesn't happen when the car's stationary - bearings, pads, discs all appear to check out ok) with the garage.
So, as part of the trouble shooting, we're going to give the rear diff a fluids change, but I'm a little stuck.
Rockauto appear to want damn near £50 for the 9 bolt gasket, and I've no clue about who'd be able to supply the correct diff oil and additive.

Any suggestions guys?

I use an additive but there are oils available, Alot of people dont use the gasket just RTV sealent but I prefer the gasket if you can get one.

What oils/additives would you recommend Rocky?

So a regular 75w90 with a friction additive would be ok? Something like http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-6320-red-li ... itive.aspx?

After a little more digging, it appears that there was a dealer update saying you don't need the additive in the 9 bolt. So we went with a regular 75w90, and the rotational noise has gone. Sounds like she should do again.
Of course, my oil pressure switch appears to be leaking now... :problem:
