Good looking car with some sensible upgrades.
Must be good on the road with 308 gears , I have 355 in mine and it's responsive but not really ideal for high speed cruising...
Not many white Firebirds in the UK

Lovely motor, looks in great fettle too.. The Soft8 wheels in black look great in my opinion, a really great compromise of classic, racey and modern look..

Work planned is relatively minor. So far we've removed some of the stickers, restuck the carpet on the RHS lower door, and had the carb retuned as it seemed to be running lean. It's now idling around 450-500rpm which I think is a bit low as the vibration at idle is pretty extreme! We'll get it looked at again, and also have a cooler-running thermostat fitted.

Other plans including fitting some of the not-yet-on-the-car interior and exterior trim, black & silver number plates, and Pontiac badge for front grille. We also need to fit the boot floor plugs and make some kind of mat for the boot floor.

I'd like to sort the tyres too. The Drag Street Radials are not really suitable for wet roads, but to be fair I've had no issues as yet. Ideally I'd like some raised white letter tyres such as Cooper Cobra. However, the rear wheels are 17" and these tyres are almost impossible to find in this size. One option is to go for another pair of Cragar Soft 8 15s (same as the front) and then the same tyres all round. Alternatively I could just change the fronts (which are no-name brand at the moment) and whiten the lettering on the rears.....

Anyway, enough babbling!

Hi Joe, that's a lovely looking car, but please, please, please, don't put white lettered tyres on it, especially Cooper Cobras, it's just soooo '70's & I always see Coopers as a cheap form of tyre. Put some good performance radials on it & have a car that handles & stops, it looks "well tuff" as it is without the lettered tyres IMHO

+1, black tyres are cool and they work so you don't have to spend money on bodywork repairs like with white-letter tyres. I've been using black tyres for years and I love 'em! HTH
