Had a little job on over the bank holiday!!!!!!

Discovered the small amount of water in the boot had turned in to an indoor water feature :o thanks to our wonderful spring weather...
After removing the rear screen and trims and digging out the seam sealer and screen bond, i discovered the problem

Somebody had made the rear screen apperture out of swiss cheese......

Luckily the rear scuttle was good and the passenger side only had a couple of small pin holes (Which were easily welded up)
Image

Fabricated a new apperture for the drivers side...

Primed up !

Base Coat now applied...

My friend has a screen company and is coming over in the morning to re fit the rear screen
Just need to lacquer the area the scotch it all back down (Custom Faded)

Not long till the M.O.T now Fingers crossed ....
Soon be on the road

Nice job on those repairs, they always seem to go round the rear window channel!

This is going to be a great car, get that MOT booked!

Thanks for your comments
M.O.T passed (second time around) after finding a split in a fuel hose right under the car that didn't give way until it had sat running for a while at the MOT station :( Isn't that always the way!!!!

Anyway passed now so i can start adding the rusty bits.....

Images to follow as soon as i get them loaded to photobucket.

Si

Let the rust begin ;)

Now the MOT is passed it's time to start the rust effects.
You try explaining to the MOT tester it's just paint not rust so don't poke it with a screwdriver

Bought some special rust effect paint but this turned out not to be suitable for what i am trying to achieve.
Perfect for full panels but not for patchy effects...

Ended up using acrylic paints to achieve the following effects..
Getting better as i go along now

Off to the garage now to create some more rust

More Pic's in a bit

That looks brilliant. Don't think I've seen 'fake' rust before in the UK...
