cheers dude..

I took the Transit to my local Ford Dagenham Motors to check out and reload the firmware to try and resolve it.
They reckoned there is no limiter set either, but say there is an EGR fault, and probably an ECU fault, which may explain the very coincidental 70mph speed limit, they couldn't progress further, without rebooking for full investigation. Odd as neither issue showed up with the other 2 times people have looked at it,

Starting to run out of ideas now.

Firstly the internet fairies are working again yipeee in online at dinnertime
Stu it sounds like they have checked the correct way so here's what I'd do next
Put a genuine ford fuel filter on it check the airfilters not solid if that doesn't cure it cut up a coke can and slide a peace of it between the egr valve and inlet manifold pipe 2 -8mm bolts run it see if you can go anyfaster
Failing this poss main dealer req bud
Hope this helps
Stu

Air and oil filter new.. Limiter feels exactly like fuel cut a limiter would do, so pretty sure it's ECU based.

Like your EGR delete mod..

Did you mean to include a fuel filter in your last post stu??

Restricted fuel due to semi blocked fuel filters especially on transits really do feel like a speed limiter you just hit a wall !!!
Last year had poss 3/4 transits that wouldnt go over different speeds i think the lowest was 55mph
All cured with new fuel filters

My EGR mod is only a temp thing as it shows instant results if the valve is knackered but leave it in place to long and it will soon get burnt through

Its also a shame that you couldnt watch what ford IDS screens they used as theres 2 ways of removing limiters one works and the other simpler way doesnt

Cheers
Stu
I took off a speed limiter on a transit on tuesday and took some pics on me phone of the way i did it which works everytime
About a year ago we used to struggle removing them
