Another dull day with the prospect of not getting much done. Too many other things to try & cram into the space of my waking hours. What with, welding the Cortina, painting a guitar, doing hypnotherapy, whilst also working nights, trying to fix my annexe roof, renovate the annexe, sort out getting some tyres on my SRI & give it an oil change & service, finish off a web site I'm building, getting the dogs claws clipped, take him for a walk, sort out the stuff for the local “Community Association” which I’m chairman of, try to arrange a car show for the village fete, whilst trying to book somewhere to stay in France enroute on our way down South on hols in July, it's a little bit hectic here at the moment. Oh & I've got to do the washing up as we've run out of plates apparently :o I think I need to clone myself

Cheers...Nige

another gorgeous day on IOM

It hasn't rained for 12 days- must be a record
we have a lot of guests shortly arriving
my GF arrives from England tomorrow night with:
4 chickens, 2 cats and dog
Old School chum comes to stay Thursday
and Friday we have 2 friends of GF's flying in from England for the weekend- they are bon viveurs so will treat them to home cooked lobsters which we can buy live here (one of my specialities)

badly want to do some gardening but limited to sorting out new terrace (India Stone) and the house

Got CJ Jeep on the road and cleaned up (mildew on seats)
Awaiting a part for Hartge E30 for engine- aiming to sort out all cars one by one

Blimey Topcat, sounds like you've a busy/fun-time ahead.. !!! :o

Tried to log in from abroad, during the last week, and somehow it wouldn't let me again on the (not-very) smart smart phone.

Been another fun week away in the alps for me. Drove about 2200 miles through 7 countries, played 5 nights in 4 different bars in 2 countries. Great returning to my favourite haunts in Austria and Switzerland. All good fun, even managed to ski a few hours here and there.

Much dull work now awaits back here though.. :|

Great to hear of Alpine adventures- sadly no time myself to go skiing

GF had a great week in Chamonix with chums who arrive this w/e
I really could not afford the time off from work and admin in Jan given HMRC deadlines and my SA visit in Feb!

Thanks for the heads up on India Stone- we seem to be largely finished by now!
Board Meeting next week and meetings with Regulators this- it all seems to be more work and admin for less reward these days;
for eg our PI insurance (no bumps or scrapes since inception from scratch in 2003) was quoted at 500% increase- and yet I am being driven to providing ever increasing % loyalty bonuses (ie reduction in fees) but still have to meet huge additional "tick box" AML and CFT legislation (they would like us to take on an additional compliance person @ £40k pa ) as well as increasing IT , Tel, and utility bills.................

At least I signed up new business today!
Apparently MONEYVAL- and ECFIN sponsored operation (along with everyone else) is out to "get" what they mistakenly perceive as Tax havens.

and this is meant to be about Camaros- my favourite subject

(sorry about rant- must post before 2 glasses of Burgundy)
