Hi, my name's rob and i've recently taken charge of a nut and bolt restored '67 Camaro RS with customed interior, which has had a completely reconditioned 396 BB w/ 4 speed manual gearbox.

it's barely done 300 miles since new so haven't been able to see what it can do....yet!
It's only had 1 coat of paint so i'll be adding that touch myself.I'm sure i'll be on this site picking brains etc as time goes by.
For now, however, i'm looking for a 14inch wheel to have as a spare. Anyone selling one?

Thanks

Thanks Nigel, unfortunately i haven't got any picks yet as i'm waiting for the spray job but i'll put some up as soon as poss. With the weather we've had i haven't taken it out much as it's too clean underneath to pepper with rain/salt/snow etc. Shinny new toy syndrome....

That's always a good question! I'm not sure about the 1st gens, when it comes to 2nd gens i have 275's on the rear. Back space is the most important part when choosing rims. What style are you thinking of going for? not spinners i hope

Hello and welcome....

Sounds like a beauty you have there. . Pics would be great too :)

I think from memory and odd info I remember, the 67's have the narrowest wheel wells at the rear, something GM changed over the next couple of years, like the staggered rear shocks from 68 onwards to counter wheel hop..

Defo no Spinners! A set of boss 338's is heading the list but this whole back space thing is a slight worry. Will be researching to see what's what. But yes Stu it is the model with the narrow arches. Seeing as i'm giving it it's coat i'm also looking at what colour and wether to go with the original nose stripe or go for the full length stripes.

Hi Rob, I think you'll find that the wheelwells on the '67 are the same as on the '68's, the only difference in first gens was in '69 when the whole 1/4 panel changed. The trunk floors, drop off panels, inner & outer wheelwells are the same on the '67 & '68's, there are no narrow wheelwells as far as I'm aware. Topcat runs a variety of wheel/tyre combinations on his, maybe he'll be able to advise on wheel offsets for you . As to stripes the stripes, are you looking to make it look original?? The Z/28's came with the twin stripes on the hood & trunk, the others in '67 came with a bumblebee stripe running across the front of the car. No Camaros were ever painted from the factory with stripes on the roof. hth

cheers...Nige

Good info Nige, thanks. Will more than likely go for the bumblebee stripe to keep it original. Although acording the plate it also came with a Vinyl roof which is something else i'll have to decide on. Fun and games....
