My son who's 19 wants a short wheel based Land Rover with bull bars and lights on it. For some obscure reason he's into Doomsday Prepping & see's a Landy as being essential. I'm hoping it's a phase he's going through

cheers...Nige

a defender would be an ideal car for a 19year old as they are slow as s##t and safe as a house and you can fit 7 in a swb 90 but insurance may be a problem..as for flooding i drove mine 3/4 of mile in 3' of water so it should be ok come armigeddon

Landy was my brothers first car. As you say ideal as it was so slow.

Car Details:Camaro phoenix project will rise soon enough
i remember topgear doing a 1st car special years ago and yup the landy was at the time cheap as chips insurance for a newbie and realistically your not going to get over a ton in it, if you hit something they SHOULD come off a lot worse than the landy, lastly p1ss easy to fix.

think the buyers guide consisted of tapping the chassis with a "toffee hammer" and if it aint rusted through then there is enough metal there!

id love a landy all tricked up esp the bowlercat which is a landy of sorts just pumped on steroids!!

I don't have any kids, but as a kid i wanted a smokey and the bandit trans am. When i learnt more about 2nd gens i realised that mine was on the same f body platform so in a way, slightly acheived that goal :)
