Right - finally got the girl back from the garage recently.
Took her for a spin up the local bypass, and I've noticed a couple of things.
She's had the intake polished, and I believe, a slight porting. The valve seats have been polished as well.
And now, I think, I'm hearing what might be induction roar? Anyone else noticed anything like this after similar work? Or is there something else going on?

Also, there's a bit of vibration about 60+, settling just about 70. The wheels were balanced not so long ago, but maybe a check on the balance and alignment might help?
Could a prop shaft balance help?

I'll see if I can get a video of the noise I'm getting at speed and at WOT.

You shouldnt hear much change if any in the intake unless its a major porting job. Induction roar normally comes from a leak in the intake tract unless you have high flow air filters, Check your idler arm for play that can cause vibration at speed.

Cheers Rocky.
The idler arm is a Moog item, so I haven't bothered to change it when I did the tie rods and sleeves, but I'll get it checked out.
As far as I know, it wasn't a major port job - gasket matched and a bit of a polish was about it, I believe. I am running two OEM-style K&N panel filters on it - that wouldn't be enough would it?

To be honest, my first thought was that something hasn't been tightened properly on the intake. It's had a full set of new intake gaskets installed so I can well believe something's not quite been nipped up or something.
I'll pop her back for a chat and a check I reckon.

If its sucking more air its normally before the throttle body if you blip the throttle while under the bonnet you should be able to hear if there is a leak.

Yeah you shouldn't really hear any difference with the work done, sounds like something else.

Vibes probably d/shaft or wheels. You could have thrown a weight or something. Does it go at 70mph + ? My advice is don't drive 60 :)

She was a little bit hesitant this morning. Had to nip out to meet someone for a greasy breakfast about 15 minutes drive away, and when we stopped at lights, instead of idling nicely at 7500, she was hunting a little above and below, as low as 5000.
Then as I was parking her, she stalled.
So, I'm going with "There's a leak somewhere in the intake" option.
