It is with great pleasure that i am writing this. I'm 99.9% confident we are one of the first (If not the first) car clubs / forums globally, to have news that this long awaited film is finished! There is a limited batch run of DVD's available to purchase, details further below.

Some of you may already be familiar with this film, if you aren't then i'm sure you will enjoy reading the following and checking out the links (and of course watching it). Why am i so excited? I worked on it! Find me on the credits under 'Additional Sound Designer' :)

What's it about?

This documentary (yep, it's all real stuff!) is truly one of a kind - If you've ever seen Canonball (1976) The Gumball Rally (1976) the subsequent offsprings (Anything with Burt Reynolds!), C'est Une Rendez Vouz, right up to the latest Gumball 3000 / Bullrun movies, know the the names Yarborough, Brock Yates, Diem & Turner, have heard of the mystical U.S Express, then this movie is right up your street. It takes a look at the cross continent rally that began as a result of Erwin George "Canon Ball" Baker riding from coast to coast in the U.S in the early 20th century and setting the first cross continent record. Inspired by this, the Cannonball Baker Sea To Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash was created, with the goal being to cross the U.S in the fastest time possible.

The great thing about this film is that it interviews the very guys that participated in these runs, what it took, how they did it and of course, the cars they did it in. What's even more exciting is that not so long ago, a recent attempt to break the longstanding 32 hours 7 minute record (hence the name of the film) had been made and this film documents that very effort.

When you take a look at the facebook page and the website you will see how long this has been in the making, nearly a decade! So when i said long awaited, i really meant it. Cory has been through hell and back on getting this film to todays release, i can certainly say it was well worth it. I spent hours and hours painstakingly searching for the right sounds such as Brock Yates' Challenger peeling out at the start line and finding the right Pantera sound of it rumbling through a car park (a lot of the footage was shot on 8mm / Betamax which had no sound / bad sound, so had to be re-created). By Painstaking i'm joking of course, loved every minute of it! Being a car guy i made sure i got the exact year and model for each car. I had the pleasure to work with Cory just over a year ago on this film and i'm glad she made it through it. Here's the main sites:

http://www.32hours7minutes.com/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1329299/

There should hopefully be screenings in the UK so it would be great to get the club down and get the cars all parked up, should be a lot of fun.

As you can tell i'm pretty excited, for many reasons. This movie really brought together my 2 passions in life (film and cars) so it's been great to be able to do what i love. I grew up on these films, i'm pretty sure i watched Smokey and The Bandit and The Canonball Run movies on a weekly basis since i was about 4 years old. I also love film sound, here's a snapshot of the shelf in my room!
