Started off making the other part of the steering pump bracket, worked out OK in the end after a lot of messing around. Need to get some new O-rings for the hose fittings, other than that, its all sorted.

Didn't get quite as far as planned with the exhaust, need to find some 2.5" tube to extend the tubes that I've got. That will allow me to tuck the mufflers right up out of the way under where the rear seat area is.

Other than that, got the cross over pipe fitted and tacked together. Made more challenging by the headers not sitting level or being the same length. And a couple of mouting points added, there'll be another one to go on the back end of the mufflers once they are in too.

Its worked out reasonably well, the pipes sit around 1/4" lower than the SFC's I made.

Nice to see the progress! Glad the bracket worked out in the end.

I noticed that too with the headers - the passenger side seems to bi slight higher up and slightly more forwards. Lot of places on ebay selling 2.5" tubing, stainless included.

Cheers for the update!

The headers always seem different. I've had 3 different sets on mine and they're all different..

Did you have any passenger floor clearance issues? The floor needed a visit from the big hammer to get mine to fit..

Ye on mine, the passenger side is verrry close - you can only get a piece of paper to slide through the gap between the flange and the floorboard. Annoyingly the way the flange is welded on is causing the issue - the passenger side has the triangle topside up, so if it were facing down, it wouId be ok. The driverside is slight lower and also had the triangle flange facing down so no issue. Wonder if lowered engine mounts may help these situations. On that note i'd hate to see how much worse the situation would be with 1/2" lowered body mounts

Cheers guys :)

Several people have said headers always seem to be different. The passenger side is about 1/2" below the floor, should be ok.

Tested the spark outputs on the ECU today, all working as they should, good fat sparks. Apart from both noise supression capacitors I am running are shorted, disconnected them for now.

Spent the rest of the day tidying some wiring up inside the car, coming together now, with not too much more to do to get it running.

Slow weekend, little progress has been made what with one thing and another!

Finished wiring inside the car, nothing more to do other than run the cables to the rear of the car.

Installed the shifter so I could sort wiring for reverse lights etc and found that the shifter cable wanted to go through the floor and not the existing hole. Some gentle persuasion with a big hammer soon fixed that. Need to repaint that section again now though. Also had to modify the bodged shift lever on the transmission. However it's now all fully functional.

Pulled the x pipe off to extend and fully weld. Simple job, just need to get the hangers sorted for the mufflers now. Going to run without tail pipes for the time being, might stick some turn downs on it. Tail pipes are a nice easy addition at a later date.

Dug the core support out from the corner of the workshop and bolted it up. Dropped the radiator in and made a top plate/bracket for it. Went to fit the rad fan but couldn't find it's little plastic feet. Ordered some more anyway.

Next job's finish the fuel, water and transmission lines.

Thanks for the latest update :)

Sounds like you are making steady progress. that's a good sign that the front end is starting to be pieced together. What depth is the radiator, looks deeper than stock, i wanna say 2"?

cheers!

Thanks Ray :)

It's all got to go together so I can fire it up. Hopefully it won't have to come apart again.

The radiator is an after market one, and yes is a 2" core, 19x26" :) should keep it cool
