Hi guys,

I am finally one of you now, I am the proud owner of Howie's Green Machine, convertible Z28.
I have a few questions and I am sure I will be on here a lot learning and asking lots of questions :)

I have one about the radio.
When I try to tune it to pick up specific stations it can only move in odd increments, as in it will move up like 99.3 - 99.5 - 99.7 - 99.9 etc but I can't figure out how to get it to go onto an even number like 96.6 or 100.0.

Is it possible and if so how?

Thanks

Which radio do you have, is it the stock GM one. I'll have a mess with mine tonight and see if I can figure out whats up with yours

Hiya,

Thanks very much :) yes I am very proud of her

it's an Auto.

Regarding the radio, yes I believe it is 100% stock GM from the factory.
Any help/general thoughts you can give will be most appreciated.

Thank you

I think this is related to where the radio is desiged to operate

In the US - all radio stations have odd numbered frequencies. So if the radio is designed to work there, just maybe that is the problem. (At least that is what I found out on the wonderweb).

:o

Hiya,

That sounds logical (I have not checked as I thought I would ask here first)

Does anyone know for sure who listens to the radio in their Camaro?
Can anyone pick up an even fm number?

Thanks

I agree with arizona, I didnt think of this until last night.

I have Euro spe, so radio is fine, it picks up all stations with no problem (when I do listen to it)

I think if the radio is a US varient you wont get the even numbers and something not even all the frequencies

My old 3rd gen radio only had the odd or even numbers, can't remember... I cured it by fitting a decent Kenwood head unit..
I thought they sorted this on the 4th gen.. unless it's just the Euro spec as you say..

Hi, The radio on my 4th gen gets all the frequencies with no problems but then it is a Euro spec.

The RPO code for the euro spec radio is UL2. I think the code for the US is UL1 but I´m not sure about that. Check your RPO codes and it will tell you.
