Well done a few bits over the last week.
Stripped my steering column down to check it over and paint. Nothing major needed other than a cancel cam and some horn bits so it all works properly. Painted a combo of gloss and matt 2k black to match the plans for the interior. Have put it back together now, no pics though.
Finally got around to sorting out the mounting for the external fuel pump. It's isolated from the tank to keep the noise down, but the pump is very quiet anyway. Should keep the pipe route nice and neat too. Turned up 4 threaded bosses and TIG welded them to the bottom of the tank, job done.
Spent the rest of the day bending up a new fuel feed line from 3/8" kunifer pipe. It runs down the stock route, I used a stock pipe as a template. The front section of pipe finishes fairly close to the firewall. The reason being that I plan to run the feed line up the G-braces from the UCA to firewall. Just have to bend up a return pipe, which I am going to run down the other side of the car. Supply company sent the wrong pipe though, so waiting for the right stuff to arrive now. Also got to run the rear brake line.
And I replaced all the self tapped holes in the frame with rivet nuts, as I plan to use rubber lined stainless P clips and bolts to hold the lines on.
Oh, I gained a 4ch and 1ch amp as well, plans for the audio system are being formed! Nothing too fancy, just something decent for those long journeys....
Loads more to do tomorrow.
