Just speed read the whole thread. Your energy and determination along with your skills are something to behold. I feel tried and worn out just looking at it. Well done. It's good to see UK cars being refurbished to this level. I haven't touched mine for sometime now but seeing this thread might just force me to look for the keys and fire her up!

Well done a few bits over the last week.

Stripped my steering column down to check it over and paint. Nothing major needed other than a cancel cam and some horn bits so it all works properly. Painted a combo of gloss and matt 2k black to match the plans for the interior. Have put it back together now, no pics though.

Finally got around to sorting out the mounting for the external fuel pump. It's isolated from the tank to keep the noise down, but the pump is very quiet anyway. Should keep the pipe route nice and neat too. Turned up 4 threaded bosses and TIG welded them to the bottom of the tank, job done.

Spent the rest of the day bending up a new fuel feed line from 3/8" kunifer pipe. It runs down the stock route, I used a stock pipe as a template. The front section of pipe finishes fairly close to the firewall. The reason being that I plan to run the feed line up the G-braces from the UCA to firewall. Just have to bend up a return pipe, which I am going to run down the other side of the car. Supply company sent the wrong pipe though, so waiting for the right stuff to arrive now. Also got to run the rear brake line.

And I replaced all the self tapped holes in the frame with rivet nuts, as I plan to use rubber lined stainless P clips and bolts to hold the lines on.

Oh, I gained a 4ch and 1ch amp as well, plans for the audio system are being formed! Nothing too fancy, just something decent for those long journeys....

Loads more to do tomorrow.

Started putting a few bits back on the firewall tonight as a load of parts arrived yesterday. Needed to get the brake MC back on so I could run the rear brake line and return fuel line. Just need to put the column back in now.

Fitted a new heater core to the heater box before I put it back, and new foam on the hot/cold diverter flap. Also got a nice new firewall insulation pad too. Oh I got a new delay wiper motor too, but turns out I need a new pump and possibly delay circuit board as well. Only thing I have is the right switch to make it work! Turned out to be an expensive fix!

Thanks Ray

Didn't get started until quite late today. But still reasonably productive.

Finished making the return fuel line and rear brake line and fitted them all. Quite pleased with how they turned out. Then I did mount one of the SFC before realising that once its on I cant fit one of the bolts for the spring mount. So took it off again  at least I know it still fits after all the paint and Dinitrol!

Need to get a linelock to fit in the front circuit between MC and prop valve at some point.

I got my 12" front disc set up, new half shaft and spring mounts back from the USA today. So have those bits to sort out when I get chance.

A long day. It started with working upside down again, cleaning, sanding and repraying the inside of the roof, the rear seat panels and inner quarters. The inside of the car is finished so I can put a few more bits back in again now. Didn't have chance to take any photos before I had to quickly pack up as rain swept in.

So I started to clean up the new front spindles and gave them a quick coat of paint. Need to redrill the discs now with the correct PCD. Think they came off a Cadillac of some description, can't remember!

Image

Faffed around with the rear brake parts as well and made up a good set of springs, adjusters and levers from a collection of parts. Hoping to get the rear brakes built up on the axle this week.

You'll have wheel on there in no time!

I am going to be taking on the fuel pipe bit soon, i bet you had fun getting it all shaped up :)

What are you doing for an exhaust? Doing something custom?

Cheers for the updates!

Thanks Ray. I have to redrill the front discs now, might get it done this week. By the end of this weekend I might well have the back axle and fuel tank in there and be close to a roller again.

The pipes weren't that bad to be honest, I had originals to copy and a small tube bend which made the job a lot easier.

Exhaust will be some sort of custom job, not sure what I am going to do with it yet though.

My Summit order arrived today, 7 days total across the Atlantic...not bad... I-parcel delivery worked well, no charges to pay this end all paid on checkout.

Anyway, included was the Anco 61-19 washer pump. Was told the delay circuit cards weren't in the new washer pumps, so it was a long shot really but this one certainly came with one. There is a model without think it's 61-16 if your card is ok. So all you need is a motor, pump and switch to make it work.

This is the pump

And wired up. The little blue wire goes to the small connector on the main motor connection. The red (or pink/black) wire from the motor goes to the left hand connection under the green box and the red one from the main connection goes to the right hand connection on the green box.
