I have got a problem with my 1979 Z28
It is popping back through the carb under throttle
This started on the run back from Billing a month or so ago , it was running perfectly fine until then.
It's absolutely fine on idle but as soon as i put load on the engine it backfires/pops through the carb.

I have done a compression test as i though it might have valve problems but these were all fine and consistent
I've fitted new plugs but still no better
I have tried another carb and still the same fault.
I have tried another coil and still the same
I have tried adjusting the timing but still the same

The engine is a 355 small block with full Edlebrock RPM package with Harland Sharp roller rockers, a Holley 750 double pumper, MSD 6AL, Blaster 2 coil and a Billet Unilite distributor

Any suggestions or other things to check

Thanks Si

Cheers for the advice.

Had that problem when i first bought the car, it had a slight misfire which was hard to trace, eventually found it by running up the car with the rocker covers off and noticed some lazy rockers.

Looks like another session in the garage, will let you know how i get on....

Might be some time with bumble bee on the go as well though

Thanks Si
