Found an 81 Z/28 the other day for $500.(US). Not the original engine or transmission, but it had been hit in the right-rear by some drunk mexicans in a Honda. Took the front fenders (with perfect lower extensions) seats, interior panels, both doors with power windows & locks. Checked the casting number on the motor and found it to be an LT1 (the real one, not the 90's version). The trans was an M-22. The carb is a newer Edelbrock, as is the intake manifold. Thorley headers topped off the find. Obviously, none of the drivetrain was factory. It has the stock Z/28 suspension, GM 10-bolt rear end (probably 3:42) ratio, no rust anywhere and repairable right rear collision damage (the rear deck lid is toast though). I'm sending this thing to the junkyard unless anyone wants a decent body with complete suspension. If any of you have any buddies here in the US (I'm in SO CA) let me know and I'll let this thing go . Otherwise, it will become Toyota parts and razor blades. Good foundation for a project car (no rust anywhere). Ecology auto wrecking will give me $ 250 for the hulk. It's
free to any UK folks who want it, as I probably don't want to know what it would cost to get it to the UK. Any interest, let me know and I'll post some photos. All my old stuff (doors & fenders and other miscellaneous stuff) will go with the car. Not trying to make a profit here, just want it to go to someone who can use what's left. I'm scrapping it in two weeks. Act now, or it's gone.
Send me an e-mail at "
danaFbee@yahoo.com" if you are interested and have some way to get it out of my hair.
