Hi Dan,

Have you got the car yet? Would like to see some pics of it, or maybe see it for real, as I live in Orpington! ;)

I can imagine a lot of people would like a wife like yours  "wow, just buy it"

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark,

She did say 'wow just buy it' but that doesn't mean that she hasn't made my life hell since for taking her up on the offer!

Feel free to pop by, I'm in Dartford, but the car is going in to Dart in Tonbridge on Tuesday to have some urgent bits done that make the car safe to drive, despite the car being 'restored' (car jolting into gear between 1st & 2nd gear, minor oils and brake? fluid leak, faulty rear light, fuel gauge malfunction, alternator low battery light etc etc etc....) So P.M me and we can arrange something for week after next.

I have been trying to upload the photo's to the site for about 3 hours now and have lost the will to live, so hopefully...you can view this folder on Photobucket..

Cheers

Thanks for the nice comments guys. The photos hide a few gremlins but it's certainly pretty tidy. Being a guy who can't stop a fuel pump unless it's exactly on a pound (I do allow it to stop on a .50 if I'm in a hurry) you can imagine that I won't be happy until its concorse standard but I've got a few years hopefully to work away at it.

Don't worry.. The black/silver number plates are on order...

Thanks for putting the pics up TC. Don't know why it wouldn't allow me to do it.

Cheers

Dan

Very kind sir! Still plenty to do, but not the engines purring I can do the other bits and bobs over time. Starting with...

Oil and transmition fluid leak, more work to rectify the strange rubbing caused by my tiny weeny little wheels on the chrome wheel arch strips / parcel shelf rust spot and cover, but and fix from spoiler, install stereo of sufficient volume that I can hear it, windows that I have to push down by hand.....etc etc etc etc

In short, it doesn't matter how nice the car is, theres still a list as long as your arms of things to do!

Thanks Neil. I did have buyers remorse for 6 months. From the moment I bought it, through shipping, UK conversion, MOT then into Dart for them to make it driveable. But now I can actually drive it that remorse has gone.

I intend to keep it pretty much as is. Since those pics it has even converted to drilled and grooves front discs as it just didn't want to stop before. A fair few cosmetics to sort and might try and squeeze a few more horses out, other than that I'm happy.

I'm not in the least mechanically minded so I'm reliant on others. So far nobody has been able to establish if it's matching numbers but the general consensus is that it's not. (seller didn't know...allegedly, Dart couldn't get to the plate, and last time I tried anything in an engine bay I spot welded a spanner to the chassis of my Dodge by touching the battery and the bodywork at the same time by accident! Doh!

I'll leave it to people who know what they're doing!
