Car drives much better with the shocks and springs. Rides high still, but nice and flat. Im happy with it.
Just picked up a £30 new GM Window winder as the drivers side motor was well sick.

Also despite trying hard to reign in spending I have a Circle-D 3500 3B stall to collect.
Will see how it drives with that. Id like to keep the 273 gears if I can due to quite a bit of motorway use.

Looking forward to getting the lid and stall installed. Im hoping to find a 90mm plumbers plastic drain pipe to replace the rubbish OEM Maf.

Should be making an appearance at the strip soon. So gets yours sorted Luke. We will see how the cam's compare performance wise :)

hahah thought you were doing the camaro on a budget and went and got the most expensive stall. Even though i've got my 3200 2B at home i'm jelous :(

If you could email me that tune you mentioned with the lean cruise stuff setup I'd be very grateful. Just to check what actually needed changing compared to my tune. You have my email the phy5lm one ?

So are you putting the stall in the stock auto box and seeing how long it lives?

I agree with the keeping the 2.73, mine returned 25 mpg the other week, got it back on road in time for a weekends driving before Auz. Round town it is dire at 15 mpg. Think my timing maybe a factor. Need to spend some more time reading up on it. I know the cam isn't as efficient but i've gone from 22 to 15 mpg. Plus it IS fueling correct now. At low loads the timing is about 36 deg. I wonder if this is too much? I'm not too fussed but would like to get near the 20's would mean i'd drive it a little more.

glad you like the suspension, i'd hate to get back in a stock camaro now :D

Yeah you can enable lean cruise around town too.
You get to choose the AFR, its pretty cool.
Ill email you the tune file. You will need to get the .cax file from efilive.com
It helps decode the extra features.

I kind of figured with the stall that the smaller one would help with acceleration and was beefier.
Ill run it in the stock trans and see how it goes. Ive set TCC lockup pressures higher, but been pretty mellow with most settings.
A big no no is lockup on WOT shifts.
Anyway Ill probably trash everything knowing my luck.
Stall going in this week along with a trans cooler, new drivers window winder (dead at present) and sorting out my mafless slp lid.
Then its basically time for a bit of final tuning, hit the dyno and spend some time at the track.
I think I calculated mine averages over 20mpg, which is ok. I might also fiddle with lean cruise some more. Might as well run it around town at light loads too.
Im permanently open loop now though as one O2 was playing up and the other one I just removed and capped off the exhaust.
I might put it back in later, but in theory lean cruise and open loop should be ok. Just need to get it close with the wideband.

Anyway tune file on the way :)

Ok now bad things are happening. High stall is causing the trans to complain. Its still running fine, but the shifts are not as firm as stock, so before I get carried away, Im going to have to get an upgraded trans!
This is bad as its rapidly leaving the budget build stage.

But the stall is awesome for going sideways and doing burnouts for sure.

New trans..

Stage4

I emailed RPM, FLT and Performabuilt nobody except FLT responded.
A mate got one of their stage7 transmissions for his 457 cube LS stroker, so I decided to try them too.

Hopefully Ill be able to sell off the stock trans and stall to offset some of the cost.

Chuck at FTI is happy to receive a set of gears to add into the shipping box..
So Im just tossing up between a 3.42:1 or 3.73:1 motive set.

I would do a bit of motorway travel with them and perhaps some longer trips so Im leaning to the 3.42:1 set.

If it was just for the track and around town Id go with the 3.73 set.

Hoping to have the gears and trans in place in August.

Then Ill have run out of things to mod for now.

the 3.42 would be better for milage, but only marginally, they are both significant drops from the 2.73 highways.

i'm pulling about 25-26 on a run without the lean cruise....not had chance to set it up. These are on the 3.23 gears....

Good mileage mate!
I cruise at high RPM. I would not want to go higher than 3.42
The Autobahn I sat just on 3000 rpm, which is around 90mph or so.
I recon 3.24 would be better. I think you have the right ratio.

I like the stall, the lockup helps avoid too much waste.
My old trans was/is fine the new one did the same until I upped the line pressure so that 3rd holds firmer.
The new one is designed to handle more pressure though so it was probably the right decision.

Ive done about 8,000 miles in it so far, including the trip to Sweden to the Big Meet. Well worth it.
Will go again next year, but in the Holden next time I think..

Just looking at some ET Streets for the stock rims ;)
See you at the strip!
