Hey Lloyd,
What a beautiful machine ! I was wondering if it were a Split Bumper ? if so how about some pic's of that nose ! Lots of times I saw the exterior handles they were chrome ALL chrome and lots of folks always gave into the temptation of engraving the exterior of the handle or some parts places had a plastic/acrylic stick-on insert that fit into the outer part of the handle that said "CAMARO". One thing worth mentioning here is that when the handles wore out , they wiggled around and ya kinda knew they were worn, they scratched the paint and they just got worse from there. In the winter people just pulled on them that much harder to get the frozen doors open and just accelerated the wear process.
A little advice here Lube the hinges on the doors! these doors are just so large and long the hinges
suffered the brunt of wear and it became so that the door becomes harder to close and folks just slammed them that much harder to get them to close accompanied by that rattle of the outer door handle.Take notice of how the door works then go at it with the proper lube.go after those bushings in the hinges,the latch for the striker,the key hole (graphite Please !) try to hit the window mechanisms from the outside the best you can then try every thing out, the difference will be night and day !
If you have the old lighter than you can replace the element if you need the whole thing, it was a period of time when GM started using "International " symbols and it had a symbol of a lighted match.you need to go to Camaro specific parts suppliers to find it, or just find one from a car that works !
The tachometer if factory should have a wire coming out of the harness in Proximity of the Engine distributor and should connect to the negative side of the coil or the tach terminal if HEI.
If my memory serves me well the Temperature sensor was screwed into the driver side of the cylinder head in between the very front exhaust port and the front of the next middle two exhaust ports . a wire fom the engine harness or coming from the side of the engine bay (nearest the steering box) may have a stray wire lurking about. these sensors were kinda tough removing and if your engine is worked it may just be plugged with no sensor. Z28 came with a gauge package so you may need to specify that its a factory gauge and z28.
I lived in Norfolk and everywhere i went my camaro turned heads Im sure every where you go you will do the same ! Very Bad to the bone Ride you got there !!!

yes it is a split bumper model - i'm beginning to realise the rarity of this the more research i do.

i'll try take some pics this weekend of the front for you mate

yes it gets lots of attention - its the sound that i love best. the exhausts are custom powerflow exhausts so sound amazing.

I will bear in mind what you said about everything mate

Very nice! We'd sure like to see that at Knightcon in September! Its not from you either....Salterhebble is the name of the village I think, in the car park of the Watermill Inn. Its a nice setting for a local car show, great turnout last year, bigger and better this year! (can you tell my mate puts this show on? :lol: )
