You're not letting this car off easy haha :) great to see that so much work is going into it - will be well worth it and i'm sure the car is happy to be getting a lot of TLC. What's left on the to-do list? Think you'll have it ready this summer?

It's certainly turned into a massive project!

In terms of repairs,there's still quite a lot to do. Well over halfway now I hope though!

Both rear quarters need some attention, doors, around the rear window and the rear panel. That's what I know of, unless I find more.

After that I have the front subframe to strip and rebuild. Then it can start going back together. Doubt I'll get it finished this year, unless we have a really good summer and I get a huge payrise!

Yeah, you are right there! Would be megabucks though, even if they did.

Finished scraping the hard underseal off the underside of the car today. Just the soft bits toward the front now, that'll probably come off with the pressure washer to be honest. Its almost dust really.

Just a couple of little patches to do then I can paint the underside of the boot floor and down to the bottom of the rear seats and inside the boot. Would be good to get the whole underside of the car done in the next couple of weeks. Would just leave bodywork repairs and finish the upside down work! :thumbup:

I was actually plesantly suprised how good the inner quarters were underneath the factory undercoating. Nice shiny new paint :shock: other than a couple of small patches. It'll be getting scuffed up and a coat of epoxy over it then recovered with modern stonechip paint.

I finished off the repairs to the boot floor today, along with some patches on the rear shock towers. All a bit of a pain to get to, either curled up in the boot or welding blind under the car. Done now though...

Tomorrow I am going to be prepping and painting both the underside and inside the boot. If the weather is good anyway!

In cleaner news, I decided to start building the ECU for the EFI. Decided to use megasquirt, and instead of buying a built unit then having to modify it anyway, I thought I'd get a kit and build and mod it myself. Modifications include installing USB comms and doing away with the rather old skool serial/RS232 and 4 built in coil drivers for wasted spark. Last job is to build a small tacho output circuit to drive the dash tach. Had it hooked up to the laptop and downloaded a base map, everything seems to work as it should....

for the dash are you going the "Autometer" route or using a similar brand / style of gauges?

FM - It appears you have everything! and soon to be a sweet camaro as well! jammy git lol

Going down the Autometer route with the dash. Using designer black instruments as they were a bargain from Amazon USA.

Still loads of stuff needed, but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end! :thumbup:

Yeah, took 2 or 3 evenings, testing as you go. Not that hard if you can solder. Rewarding though.

This was the result of tonights efforts. Everything came off pretty easily, which suprised me. Just used some M12 stud as a spring compressor, simple. Not so sure about putting it back together though :lol:

Next is wrestling the gearbox out of the subframe so I can lift the car up to finish off painting and cleaning the underside properly.

I can't remember if you're taking the subframe out ?.. definately worth checking the subframe to body bushings, as they're probably shot..
