On the news today Carroll Shelby died in Texas. A true Automotive legend! May not have been a Chevy guy but, his work at Ford with the Mustang in the 60's gave the masses the first true performance cars, and that started the great muscle car wars between Chevy, Ford and Mopar. Thanks and R.I.P

Thats really sad, he was a great man and an american legend with the foresight to design and build cars differently. He was meant to be coming to the Goodwood Revival meeting in September for the 50th anniveresary of the Shelby Cobra. Another americal racing legend, Dan Gurney is also meant to be attending. I suppose now it will be more of a Tribute meeting instead. Very sad, R.I.P.

That's very sad news indeed. R.I.P Carroll, you made a difference.

It seems as though all the old guys are dying before their legends ever do

I never met Carroll but apart from making the huge mistake of going to Ford in the first place - he really could do nothing wrong

His Shelby Cobra sportscar will continue to be the most copied by kitcat builders the world over- and that is a huge compliment even if some disagree

What a racer
What a guy
What a car maker
