Hi folks
My battery is about to die and I'm having a helluva job finding the right replacement. The one fitted is a Bosch Silver 5BN (55AH 540CCA), but no-one lists them.

I've been told that an 069 is the one recommended, and I can get a Bosch 069 for £52+vat. BUT, my battery's spec is L-240mm/W-173/H-175. The 069 is L-260/W-173/H-225.
When I measure the space available it seems that no way will an 069 fit. Also the terminal layout looks to be opposite to mine

Can any of you guys let me know what battery you've got fitted, and if poss what terminal layout you've got. From the front of the car, my positive is on the right.

Any help will be much appreciated and will defo get you on my Christmas list

Oh yeah, '99 Z28 (LS1)

Tony

If the other bosch one wont fits, I wouldn't risk it.

Try these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=c ... m270.l1313

As you say +ve is on rhs at the rear of the battey looking from the front of the car.Ie if looking at the terminals on the battery when it is out of the vehicle, the +ve will be on the left.

I have an optima red top, but they are 200 quid. they have 800 cranking amps fo fire car up in a flick of the starter :D

Have you got somewhere like Mannbatt close to you? Just take your battery in and they'll match it up. Did a good battery for mine.

Many thanks for posting this  . I'm embarrassed to say that I'd clean forgotten about the guys at John Woolfe Racing  even though, over the years, I've had many dealings with them.

At some time the car has been modified for top terminal batteries, but fortunately they left the side mount fittings in place. Reckon I'll go the Federal Mogul route.

Thanks again
Tony

Thanks for your input.

Until your post, I'd never heard of these people! They've got a branch in Guildford which is only about 20 miles from me

I'll almost certainly go to John Woolfe Racing this time, but it's another really useful site to add to my favorites.

Many thanks
Tony
